Mineral Industry Development Program CY 2011


Mining Industry Development Program (MIDP) program is geared towards the attainment of economically revitalized and an environmentally and socially responsible mining industry. It is essentially consists of the administration and supervision of all the various stages of mining operation such as exploration, development and utilization of mineral resources. In support to the program, MGB IV- CALABARZON Region continues to assist the proponents secure their mining permits while vigorously conducting compliance monitoring on the conditionalities of their mining permits including other plans and programs required thereof.

For this year, the following specific accomplishment of the MGB-Region IV-A was considered contributory to ensuring the protection and productivity enhancement of our natural resources.

→a total of twenty (20) approved mining contracts/permits were monitored on its compliance with terms and conditions specified in their mining contracts/permits;

Tw enty-six (26) existing Mine Rehabilitation Fund Committees (MRFC) operationalized with 108% accomplishment per target; and

Tw enty-four (24) mining/audit mining/processing firms were monitored on a quarterly basis in terms of compliance to Mine Safety and Health Standards, Annual Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program (AEPEP) and Social Development and Management Programs (SDMP).

In support to the implementation of the National Greening Program (NGP), our partners in the mining industry had produced a total of 43,038 seedlings planted and/or donated to LGUs public schools and other stakeholders. The success of the implementation of the NGP for CY 2011 is attributed to the concerted efforts by DENR Region IVA (CALABARZON), mining companies, Local Government Units, schools and other stakeholders. They played a big role in the accomplishment of the target and DENR-MGB IVA CALABARZON is looking forward their support for the NGP in the years to come.
